Sustainability Assessment & Plan

In 2010 Clackamas Community College (CCC) completed an extensive Sustainablity Assessment & Plan to provide an overview of the sustainability coursework, partnerships and activities accomplished or underway so that the institution's sustainability and climate neutrality goals can be identified, planned and implemented.

Greenhouse Gas Inventory

In 2010 the College completed a campus-wide inventory of its greenhouse gas emissions to use as a base line to track further accomplishments in energy reduction. GREENR (Global Reference on the Environment, energy, and Natural Resources)

The Global Reference on the Environment, Energy, and Natural Resources focuses on the physical, social, and economic aspects of environmental issues. Topic, organization, and country portals form research centers around issues covering energy systems, health care, agriculture, climate change, population, and economic development. Portals include authoritative analysis, academic journals, news, case studies, legislation, conference proceedings, primary source documents, statistics, and rich multimedia. Use Browse Issues and Topics, World Map, Basic Search or Advanced Search to explore the database.

Water Conservation Tool Rebates - To help their customers use water more efficiently and save money on water bills, the Clackamas River Water Providers is offering toilet and landscape water use rebates up to $150 in value. These rebates are available on a first-come, first-served basis until the program funds are depleted. You may also call 503-723-3511. - nonprofit hands out CFLs to low income communities.

Metro's Bike There! Map - This is a great bike map tool that shows how to get around Clackamas via bike. Also lets you see an electronic version of Metro’s Bike There! map, which differentiates between roads based on their bikeability. - Map your bike ride. Share with friends.

Metro Sustainable Living Page - Includes links to biking/walking maps, tips for composting, recipes for green house cleaners, and even a list of recycling centers where you can take all the things that you can’t leave at the curb. Their “Find a Recycler” tool is very helpful.

Local Sustainable Industries

The ReBuilding Center - The common sense alternative to demolition! The ReBuilding Center salvages up to 95% of homes slated for deconstruction thus eliminating unnecessary landfill waste and the resource extraction to manufacture new building materials. The ReBuidling Center goes one step further to selling unique, functional and period building and furniture resources while providing living wage jobs to their employees.

Second Use - A deconstruction and retail service similar to the ReBuilding Center that has been salvaging and reselling building materials since 1994 in the Puget Sound Region.
