Smart Internships offer students both high school and college credit for work based learning. Students pay a $30 fee and can earn up to 12 college credits per year.

Program Goals:

  •  Provide students a step on a pathway to work and school
  • Develop entry level skills in a specific occupation and practice the basic career management skills necessary to obtain, sustain, and advance employment
  • Provide a venue for curriculum alignment between high schools and colleges

Benefits:

 

  • Students can earn up to 12 college credits for their internship
  • Students can start anytime
  • Training plans are developed with the student, school, and the employer

Smart Internships are aligned with the new diploma requirements from the State of Oregon concerning Career-Related Learning Standards (CRLS).
