Young Parent Opportunity Program (YPOP)

The Young Parent Opportunity Program (YPOP) is a comprehensive high school educational program serving pregnant or parenting teens. YPOP provides an opportunity for teens to continue their education, increase their parenting skills, and prepare for employment. Clackamas Community College, Clackamas County High Schools, Department of Human Services, Clackamas County Mental Health and YMCA Childcare all cooperate to provide the program at YPOP.

Eligibility

YPOP serves Clackamas County youth who are:

  • 15 to 21 years of age
  • Pregnant or parenting
  • Interested in earning high school credits or GED preparation

Hours: 9:30 to 2:30 Monday through Thursday
Fee: $55 per term
Location: Family Resource Center

Procedure for Entry:

  • Call for an intake-interview appointment to determine eligibility and placement
  • Obtain a signed referral from resident high school, or
  • Obtain a release from compulsory attendance if under 18 and not referred from a contracting district
