Essential Skills

Students will graduate with the skills they need to succeed in the world.  Essential Skills are process skills that are infused throughout the curriculum and applied in a variety of settings.

Competencies

All AHSD candidates must have a 9th grade reading level or better and demonstrate minimum competency in reading, writing, and math.

In addition to the credit and competency requirements, students must maintain a 2.0 G.P.A. at the college and successfully complete at least 12 college credit hours or two high school units through Clackamas Community College.

How long will it take and how much will it cost?

How long it takes depends on how many credits need to be earned and how many credits are earned each term. The cost generally depends upon length of program, courses needed and referral from school district. Adult Secondary Education classes carry only high school credit. A materials fee per high school class is charged. Since college classes earn both high school and college credit, college tuition/fee rates are charged.

Graduation

All Adult High School Diploma graduates are invited to participate in the formal cap and gown commencement ceremonies held each Spring Term (June).

Students expecting to graduate must apply for graduation. Petitions may be obtained from the AHSD instructors, who will document competencies, and the Registrar's Office will verify that all requirements have been met.
