Basic Skills (ABE):
Individualized Education for Adults
Individualized, open entry/open exit Adult Basic Education (ABE) classes provide an opportunity to review basic skills in five general knowledge areas: math, English, reading, science, and social studies. Students who pass standardized General Educational Development (GED) tests receive high school equivalency certificates. Adults may receive basic skills instruction in reading, math, and grammar to improve employability and prepare for further education.
Students must be at least 16 years old; those under 18 may be admitted with a letter of release from compulsory attendance or referral obtained from the district high school.
Instruction for Individualized Education for Adults is available day and evening in the Campus Learning Center (503) 667-6958 X2595.
