Scholarships
Providing scholarships for deserving students is the heartbeat of the Clackamas Community College Foundation. The cost of tuition across the country is rising at an alarming rate with thousands of students priced out of entrance. Falling through the cracks are those who may not qualify for federal aid and who do not have the resources in the bank to pay the costs. More and more community college students are taking out loans to finance their education. This is an option the Foundation would like to help students avoid.
The CCC Foundation Board of Directors is dedicated to doubling the number of scholarship recipients from the 250 served in 2006 to more than 500 by the year 2010. The demand is there. Currently, only one-half of those who apply for scholarship support at Clackamas receive awards.
Scholarships may be provided by:
Creating an endowment. The funds are invested, distributing 5% based on the endowment's corpus to students each year. Scholarship endowments may be named at $10,000 and may be built over time.
Or by
Annual contributions. A scholarship may be provided each year with your annual gift at the level you choose. Scholarships that provide support for tuition, fees, texbookds, or any combination of those are extremely beneficial for students.
