Language Skills Assessment

Language Skills Assessment

Language Skills Assessment (LSA)is a program mandated by the wildland fire fighting contract where as all Crew Bosses, Squad Bosses and their respective trainees must pass the assessments. The assessment is in two (2) parts. The first is an oral assessment where the fire fighter is asked questions verbally and must answer in either English or Spanish as requested. The second part is a written exam. The fire fighter is given an Incident Action Plan(IAP) and must extract the answers to the questions from the plan. The results are then forwarded to their employers and Oregon Department of Forestry.
