About the Bridges Program
The Bridges Program is designed to teach you how to use information about yourself to make decisions about your next step in continued education or training.

Classes are interactive and individualized to meet your needs. Activities and content are designed to help you reach your full potential through:

  • Providing awareness of educational options and resources
  • Exploring attitudes, abilities and interests
  • Building skills to succeed in college and to take full advantage of opportunities that will shape your future

    • Learn what is expected/required for success in continued education.
    • Gain knowledge for increased social skills and improved personal growth/wellness.
    • Become aware of resources for further education, training and employment.
    • Develop networking skills to expand personal options.
    • Improve the estimation of one’s self-worth and future possibilities.
    • Identify individual goals and objectives designed toward overcoming each student’s unique barriers to self-sufficiency.
    • Develop skills in problem solving, communication and stress management.
    • Formulate an Action Plan, which will contain educational/personal goals.

  • HD-208-04 Career & Life Planning

Classes are Tuesdays & Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. – 12:20 p.m.
Both classes total 6 credit hours
Combined class fees are $48.00

Fall 2006 Courses:
The next Bridges course will begin in Fall Term 2006, on September 26th.

Eligibility:

  • Be between ages 17 – 23.
  • Have the desire and ability to pursue higher education.
  • Have a high school diploma or GED, or be near completion with current teacher referral.
  • Meet with the instructor prior to registration, and obtain instructor signature on registration form. The next course will begin in Fall Term 2006, on September 26th. Contact Instructor prior to June 15th, or call Beth Millican after that date.
