How to Get Started in Moodle | Moodle Technical Support

Moodle is Here!

Beginning with summer term, all online and hybrid courses began using an exciting new learning management system called Moodle Joule. Moodle Joule, which replaced Blackboard at CCC, is a flexible system that allows instructors to create courses with online quizzes, assignments, resources and forums, organized in an effective, easy to learn course structure. Activities and assignments are available to students around the clock. Moodle supports social learning; students can use Moodlerooms to communicate and collaborate to enhance their learning experience. Free Moodle workshops are being offered to help students get started.

How to Get Started in Moodle

You can now use your "MyClackamas" logon and password to access Moodle. Fall courses will be available in Moodle on the first day of the term (September 27.)
Follow these steps to get started in Moodle:
  1. Open your Internet Browser (Firefox is preferred) and go to Moodle at http://online.clackamas.edu
  2. Click the "login" link (usually found in the upper-left or upper-right area of your screen)
  3. If you already have a MyClackamas account, enter your Username/Password and click the "Login" button. Moodle will create an account for you and allow you to navigate to the course catalog.
NOTE:Your "MyClackamas" username is the part of your email address before the @ symbol.
The username does not include "@student.clackamas.edu"
  4. If you do not have a MyClackamas account, go here to create one: https://www2.clackamas.edu/account/
  • If you have forgotten your MyClackamas username and password, click here
  • If you still have trouble with your MyClackamas account, send email to darylm@clackamas.edu or call 503-594-0941.
Once you've successfully logged in to the Moodle site, you will see a list of departments that are offering courses. Select the department that is offering your course and then click on your course title. Clicking on the course title will do one of the following:
  • If the course is set up to require an enrollment key, you will be prompted to enter the key. If you need the key, please contact the instructor and/or the department offering the course.
  • If the course is set up to allow students to self-enroll, you will be alerted that you are "about to enroll yourself" and will be given the option to click a "YES" (enroll) or "NO" (do not enroll) button.

Once you are enrolled in your course, you may begin work by reading and following your instructor's directions.

If you have questions about the course content, please contact the course instructor.

If you have questions about the Moodle system, please contact the Moodle help desk at 503-594-6310.

The recommended browser for Moodle is Mozilla Firefox. Get Firefox here; it's free!
