Tradition of Excellence: Clackamas Community College has a long history of success in competitive speech and debate, with seventy-two National Championships, seven National Sweepstakes Championships, and three National Top Speaker Awards spanning several decades of competition.

Current Members: The debate team is headed by Professor Kerrie Hughes. The team also benefits from the contributions of Patrick Lairson, Assistant Coach.

All team members maintain strong academic performances while participating in debate, academic research, community service, and other extracurricular activities.

About the Team: The CCC Speech and Debate Team competes in intercollegiate tournaments across the country from September through April. CCC is a proud member of both the National Parliamentary Debate Association (NPDA), International Parliamentary Debate Association (IPDA), Phi Rho Pi, along with a number of local organizations.
