American Landscape Contractors Association

Purpose: The mission of the Clackamas Community College Associated Landscape Contractors of America (ALCA) Club is to educate its participants regarding national standards for the landscaping industry and to facilitate student networking within the national horticultural industry. Our goals are to extend one's knowledge base regarding landscape standards and practices as well as to represent Clackamas Community College at events in an effort to help other perspective students and employers more fully understand opportunities at Clackamas Community College.


Audio Recording Club

Purpose: The purpose of this club is to promote betterment of Audio Recording.

Book Exchange Club

Purpose: To provide a venue for students to resell and purchase textbooks and other related materials on consignment.

Meetings: No regular meetings. Book Exchange runs during finals week and the first two weeks of the following term (does not run finals of spring term or during summer).

Black Student Union

Purpose:

  • The purpose of this club is to unite the Black student body without limit or exclusion of student or faculties’ ability to join.
  • To inform the community of African American History, Culture and promote diversity in the area.
  • To expand and offer business opportunities and services to families in need or looking to protect their family's well being legally, in the black community but not limited to

Campus Crusade for Christ

Purpose: To be a spiritual resource to individuals in the college and community. This will be done by providing investigative Bible studies, prayer, discipleship, retreats, and fellowship activities. Campus Crusade for Christ will also provide guidance to those who wish to know how they can have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Child Care Club

Purpose: To seek funding for both long term and short term solutions to the need for affordable student child care.

Chrysalis (Women's Writers)

Purpose: The purpose of this club is to support and critique the writing of its members.

Clackamas Community College Campus Cat Colony Club (7 C's)

Purpose:

  • To locate, trap, and have neutered and vaccinated the feral/stray cats on the CCC campus
  • To set up and maintain special feeding stations for these cats.
  • To keep records of numbers, costs, etc. of the project
  • To make others aware of our solution to the feral/stray cat problem.
  • And to promote the use of the colonies on other college campuses and elsewhere.

Clackamas Community College Republicans

Purpose: The purpose of this club is to promote Republican ideals, to aid in the election of Republican candidates, and to provide an arena for students to express Republican values and develop political and leadership skills.

Computer Club

Purpose:

  • To promote and support the CCC Computer Science Department and the use of computers in our school and community
  • To develop contacts and relationships with outside business and schools
  • To seek and collect donated computers and related items
  • To provide inexpensive access to computer resources
  • To maintain a reference area for club members
  • To provide help and guidance for fellow students in the Computer Science courses
  • Sponsor a computer related event at least once a year

 

Concert Band Club

Purpose: The purpose of this club is to promote the playing of concert band music.

Criminal Justice Club (Epsilon Tau Alpha)

 

Purpose: To improve criminal justice through educational activities, to promote professional, academic, and public awareness of criminal justice issues, to provide a unified voice for students of criminal justice at CCC, to promote high standards of ethical conduct, professional training, and higher education within the criminal justice field, to network with like organizations in and out of state, and to promote student involvement in the community service programs.

Dance Club

 

Purpose: To explore and perform different kinds of dance

Democrat Club

Purpose: to bring an opportunity for people of all backgrounds to come together and discuss relevant issues in the community and the world.  The College Democrats will also provide numerable opportunities for its members to become active in the greater Portland and Oregon community for the betterment of both individual and group.  Criteria for subjects of discussion and the variety of available community opportunities are that they inspire activism and critical thought for progressive growth.

Dollars for Education

Purpose: To work with the Associated Student Government at Clackamas Community College in the efforts of lobbying and educating CCC students on state and federal issues by way of conferences or other forms that the Dollars for Education Club sees as educational. These students can then bring back the information they have learned at the leadership conference and share it with CCC Student Government and others to make sure that the college is serving students to the best of its ability.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes

Purpose: "to present to athletes and coaches, and all whom they influence, the challenge and adventure of receiving Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, serving Him in their relationships and in the fellowship of the church".

FCA is open to everyone. You do not have to be an athlete to belong but topics covered usually have an athletic twist, so interest in athletics is encouraged. We do activities such as bowling, retreats, have guest speakers, eat, movies, go to the beach, athletic clubs, intramural activities, etc.


French Club

Purpose: To provide a forum for students who are interested in learning about the French language and culture and to meet other people who share this common interest

   

Gay/Straight Alliance

Purpose: To have a safe and supportive place for Gays, Lesbians, Bi and Trans students. It is also a place where students can support and learn from each other.


German Club

Purpose: To study and practice German and learn more of Germanic cultures.

Global Activism Club

Purpose: to create awareness among ourselves and our fellow students about global humanitarian crises in order to incite change.  We will be socially active by spreading awareness among our fellow students and the general public.  We will be politically active by advocating to government officials around the globe on behalf of those suffering human rights abuses.

 

Greenspaces

Purpose: To preserve and expand the community gardens.

History Travel Club

Purpose: To promote and facilitate educational travel opportunities, with a special emphasis on history education, for students (past, present , and future) of CCC. To achieve this goal, the club will plan one or more trips with a historian each year, publicize travel opportunities, and plan and coordinate fundraising activities to subsidize scheduled trips. Funds will be distributed to members to cover scholarships for credit earned through travel program fees, registration fees, and airport fees.

Horticulture Club

Purpose: To enhance horticulture education.

International Club

Purpose: The purpose of this club is to promote cultural diversity among ourselves and the college, to encourage cultural interest, and to inspire students and clubs members to travel.

Latter Day Saint Student Association

Purpose:

Section 1: To encourage and support members of LDSSA in achieving their academic goals and maintaining a balanced life while on campus.

Section 2: To encourage members of LDSSA to become an influence for good by participating in activities and service on campus and in the community.

Section 3: To provide students with meaningful service opportunities and social and religious activities that are consistent with LDSSA standards.

Northwest Collegiate Ministries

Purpose: To provide a ministry to individuals in the campus community, through Bible study, prayer, and fellowship. Furthermore, BCM will exist in order to guide those who wish such guidance to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and to the discerning of what is His desire for their lives.

Pacific Northwest Clean Water Association (PNCWA)

Purpose:

  • The advancement of fundamental knowledge of the water environment, its basic qualities, and physical laws governing its interaction with other aspects of the environment and with all the aesthetic, economic, and biological needs of the earth's inhabitants.
  • The advancement of practical knowledge in the technology, design, construction, operation, and management of water quality control systems and facilities.
  • The increased understanding of the nature and function of the earth's natural waterways, surface, sub-surface, and atmosphere, and encouragement and promotion of action necessary to preserve and enhance them.
  • The stimulation of public awareness of the relationship of water resources to the general public welfare and the need for preservation, conservation, and reuse of water resources.
  • To provide and avenue for the exchange of information and ideas between students and members of the WEF, PNCWA, and the American Waterworks Association (AWWA).
  • To develop the student's growth and future in the environmental quality field.
  • Other relevant activities.

Phi Theta Kappa

Purpose: To recognize and encourage scholarship among two-year college students. To achieve this purpose, Phi Theta Kappa shall provide opportunity for the development of leadership and service, for an intellectual climate for exchange of ideas and ideals, for lively fellowship for scholars, and for stimulation of interest in continuing academic excellence.

Spanish Club

Purpose: To study and practice Spanish and learn of the Hispanic cultures

Speech Club

Purpose: To provide opportunity for sharing of interest and ideas, to develop ability in parliamentary procedure, to increase the vocal and organizational skills of members and to promote interest in Forensics at CCC and elsewhere as opportunity arises.

Student Art League

Purpose: To aid in the promotion, participation, and understanding of the arts for the membership, campus community, and community at large.

Student Nursing Association

Purpose:

  • To assume responsibility for contributing to nursing education in order to provide for the highest quality health care.
  • To provide programs representative of fundamental and current professional interests and concerns
  • To aid in the development of the whole person, his/her professional role, and his/her responsibility for the health care of people in all walks of life.

Unidos Club

Purpose:

  • Organize community projects
  • Educate the community on Chicano/Mexican/Latino culture
  • Provide leadership skills to other Chicano/Mexican/Latino people
  • To serve as a support group for it's members, encourage the members to grow, learn, mature, and eventually graduate with an AAOT degree, and go on to a four year university
  • To support and defend the human and social rights of the Chicano/Mexican/Latino communities and all people of color
  • To increase the number of educated Chicanos/Mexicans/Latinos with an AA and/or transfer degree

Veteran's Club

Purpose: To provide a social group to help veterans adjust to and become successful in civilian and college life; to promote college spirit and to establish and maintain fellowship amongst veterans and students abroad the CCC campus; to assist with the dissemination of valuable information to veterans; to integrate veterans into social and campus activities; to organize worthwhile projects and events pertaining to veterans and their needs.
