Workforce Investment Act

Learn more about Workforce Investment Act (WIA), a federally funded program through the Department of Labor. The purpose of WIA is to help the individual find a job, keep a job and increase their wages.

Employment Skills Training - EST

Combine college courses with hands-on instruction at a local employer. A wage subsidy is available for providing training for WIA participants.

On-the-job-training with a focus on skills specific to an occupation Open-entry/open exit, allowing students to begin their training at any time.

Cooperative Work Experience

The Cooperative Work Experience (CWE) is an internship-type program that offers you an opportunity to earn college credit by working in a job that is directly related to your major area of study. Co-op opens the door to expanded learning experiences through exposure to actual work situations, organizational relationships, and equipment and techniques that cannot be duplicated in the classroom.
