Workforce Investment Act

Learn more about Workforce Investment Act (WIA), a federally funded program through the Department of Labor. The purpose of WIA is to help the individual find a job, keep a job and increase their wages.

Employment Skills Training - EST

Combine college courses with hands-on instruction at a local employer. A wage subsidy is available for providing training for WIA participants.

Occupational Skills Training - OST

On-the-job-training with a focus on skills specific to an occupation Open-entry/open exit, allowing students to begin their training at any time.

Cooperative Work Experience

The Cooperative Work Experience (CWE) is an internship-type program that offers you an opportunity to earn college credit by working in a job that is directly related to your major area of study. CWE opens the door to expanded learning experiences through exposure to actual work situations, organizational relationships, and equipment and techniques that cannot be duplicated in the classroom.
