2007 SEASON RECAP

A season of ups and downs but Cougs hold their own
Ladies tie for 7th place in 29-team NWAACC

2007 Cougars 25-23 7th Place at NWAACC

The 2007 volleyball season was full of ups and downs there was a great deal of growth and development.  The Cougars were a young team that was able to play very well by the end of the season.  [View 2007-08 roster :: 2007-08 news archives]

Cougar volleyball videoCoach Kathie Woods on 2007:
I think we surprised alot of people at NWAACC's. Tying for 7th place in a very competitive league this year is nothing to be ashamed of.  We ended up tying with Walla Walla, another team that has had alot of success over the last several years.  The NWAACC tournament was one of those weekends where anyone could have surprised anyone.  We played well against Whatcom in the first match of the tourney but just couldn't get past them this year.  They ended up making it all the way to the tourney championship for the first time in their history.  We played tough against Pierce and Bellevue before falling to Clark in the last match of the season.  It was a tough loss, since we had beaten them soundly the last time we played them, but like I said, on any given weekened anything can happen.  That is the NWAACC league.  It is made up of many tough teams and we need to have respect for all of them all the time.  So as I look back I see that we had our fill of successes.  Now we need to concentrate in the classroom and see what we can accomplish there.  I am looking forward to seeing what will happen the rest of this year as we continue to develop and prepare for another year of exciting Cougar Volleyball.  Thank you for your support.  We appreciate the support of our fans!!!
