2006 SEASON RECAP

Cougars Enjoy Another Stellar Season
NWAACC Championship game participants in 3 of Last 4 Years

2006 Cougar Volleyball SquadThe 2006 season was an exciting season from start to finish.  After not achieving the goals we set out to accomplish in 2005, we were determined to do something special in 2006.

"Making it to the Championship match, after not even qualifying to make a showing in the 2005 NWAACC tournament, was quite a turn-a-round that I was very proud of this year," exclaimed Head Coach Kathie Woods. "We competed from start to finish and were the favorites for the majority of the season. Earning a 41-9 overall record was exciting, winning several tournaments and coming extremely close in others.  We had several people step up in many different occasions."

"Every sophomore that chose to continue playing volleyball at the next level has made that dream come true," added Woods.

"Heather, Rhea, Margo and Meggan are continuing their careers at the next level and I can't wait to see their successes.  I am also extremely proud of how this team has done in the classroom.  Presently we are in the running to receive another prestigious scholastic national honor from the American Volleyball Coaches Association.  We are waiting for spring term grades to make that final goal.  Overall it was a great year and it was fun to get back on track and win the way we are accustomed to.  We are extremely proud that we have made it to the Championship game of the NWAACC's the last 3 out of 4 years, winning it in 2004.  The Cougar Volleyball Program is again in full swing and we are excited for the future."
