Cougar Tradition
The track and field program has a competitive history. The men’s and women’s teams have finished in the top three on eleven occasions in the past 15 years. Clackamas athletes do well while at CCC and beyond. Clackamas alumni have performed at the NCAA Championships with a champion in the women's vault, third in the men's decathlon and seventh in the women's javelin just to name a few. Our alumni have also earned Western Athletic Conference Men's Athlete of the Year, Great Northwest Athletic Conference Men's Athlete of the Year, twelfth place in the men's 5000 at US Nationals (13:50), and sixth place at the Nike Cross Country Team Nationals (finishing just behind Adam Goucher).
The track program at Clackamas is well-rounded with strong performances in all event areas. This past spring there were NWAACC champions in the men’s and women’s javelin, men’s hammer throw, women’s 4 x 100 relay, men’s 4 x 100 relay, men’s 4 x 400 relay, and men’s 100. There were also All-American performances in women’s 200, women’s 400, women’s 1500, women’s steeple chase, women’s 4 x 400 relay, women’s high jump, men’s 100, men’s 200, men’s 400, men’s 110 hurdles, men’s 400 hurdles, men’s high jump, men’s shot put, and men’s discus throw.

Clackamas works hard to prepare athletes for the next level. The transferring class of 2007 will have received a minimum of $108,000 in scholarship money over the next two years. We currently have athletes at such schools as University of Oregon, Western State College in Colorado (NCAA Division II Men's Cross Country Champions), Cal
State-Northridge, Western Oregon, Seattle Pacific University and many others. Our athletes perform well here and keep getting better when they transfer.
Becky Holliday is one standout alumni who has gone on to accomplish great feats in the pole vault after Clackamas. She currently has held the NCAA Outdoor Championships meet record, is the indoor and outdoor school record holder at the University of Oregon and has third at the USATF National Outdoor Championships. Becky is currently competing for New Balance and competes all over the world representing New Balance and the United States.
Academic Tradition
Clackamas has strong academic programs. There are over 140 majors. We
also have an athletic academic advisor to help student-athletes stay on track with their academic plans. Clackamas track has also had three valedictorians in the last three years as well as many athletes that graduated high school with 3.8 GPA and above. We have a strong medical staff with an athletic trainer and team doctor to keep the athletes
healthy.
Cougar Success is Founded on Teamwork & a Strong Schedule
We compete against 4-year programs on a regular basis. The coaching staff believes that every action is circular. Positive behaviors create other positive behaviors which leads to strong performances.
