Men's Highlights
The Cougars had a great season in 2006 narrowly missing third place
finish at the NWAACC Championships. This was the first time in the last
nine years that Clackamas has not come home with a trophy. CCC has won
four Southern Region titles and two NWAACC Championships since 1996.
Clackamas has also had two individual NWAACC Champions (Trevor Dodge
and John Butkey) since 2000. CCC won the Co-ed Combined Team Title in
2003, 2000 and 1996 showing that year they were the best overall
community college distance program in Oregon and Washington and were
second and third for the Co-ed Combined titles in 2004 and 2005,
respectively. John Butkey holds the record for the fastest finish time
of any NWAACC Championships.
Women's Highlights
The Cougar Women also had a successful season in 2006 with a fourth place finish at the NWAACC Championships. The Cougars have had many top performances with two NWAACC Champions in the last seven years (Kari Rissmiller, Jessica Harper). Coach McHone has coached two NWAACC Championship teams the past five years with second and third place finishes the other years (with exception of 2002). Clackamas also owns just under 50% of the co-ed combined titles since 1989. There have been four team titles for the Cougars since 1996. The fastest woman’s time in the 5000 meters is 18:09 since Coach McHone has been the head coach.

Andria Scheese earns All-American honors
November 11, 2006
Spokane, WA - The Cougars raced well this weekend, but came up a little short of bringing home hardware. The men would have finished third thus bringing home a trophy, but the number two finisher for the team went the wrong way and was disqualified. That put the fate into the number six runner who was short of finishing in a hardware position. It was still a promising showing for an all freshman team.
The women were led by Andria Scheese who earned All-American status despite running with a recently incurred hip injury. The top four had strong races but were just short of third place in their first scoring competition of the season. This was the only race of the year that the women's team scored due to running with only four runners. Despite finishing fourth there is promise for next year, since Lyndsey McKillip is the only sophomore on the team.
The course was mostly flat with about 1000 meters of gradual hill and one steep narrow 250 foot trail.
