Josh RhodenJosh Rhoden :: Head Coach

This is Coach Rhodens's second season at the helm of the program. A gifted mentor of the sport - Josh's inaugural season with the Cougars was capped with a fifth place finish at the NJCAA National Championships and a school record six All-Americans.

A product of Crook County High School, Josh was a standout at Clackamas C.C. during the 2000-01 season, taking 3rd at the regional’s and a top 10 finish at national’s under former Cougar Head Coach Lloyd Martindale.

Josh’s successful freshman season at CCC led to a collegiate career with Pacific Lutheran University for his sophomore campaign. Josh became a dominating NCAA Division III 174-pounder, winning conference champion twice, was named the 2003 Northwest Wrestling Championships Most Outstanding Wrestler and qualified for the NCAA Division III National Championships.

Josh then transferred to Pacific University for his senior season after Pacific Lutheran suspended their wresting program. He enjoyed continued success at Pacific, winning two tournament crowns, until he sustained a season-ending knee injury. He compiled 91 wins during his stellar collegiate career, but the untimely injury resulted in Josh falling nine matches short of a huge collegiate milestone of 100 victories.

Josh’s coaching career began with Pacific University where he was a graduate-assistant for 2004-05 season. He then became Head Assistant at Redmond High School program and helped lead the Panthers to 5th place in the 2006 OSSA 4A Wrestling Championships.

Brett BornBret Born :: Assistant Coach

This is Coach Born's first season with the Cougar program.  He is an Ohio native who brings an extensive wrestling background to the Clackamas program. After completing his prep and college careers in Ohio, Bret began his coaching career at Ohio University before moving out to Oregon.

While in Oregon, Bret has been the head wrestling coach at several High Schools. Each stop along the way Bret transformed his programs into successful teams. Most recently a head coach at Lincoln High School in Portland, Bret was named the Portland Interscholastic League (PIL) coach of the year three consecutive times (2003, 2004 and 2005).

With 30 years of wrestling experience, Coach Born is a tremendous asset to the program. He brings enthusiasm and an excitement for the sport to every practice that the kids really feed off of. Bret has tremendous knowledge of the sport and has been a terrific asset to the program.

 

Rich VigoritoRich Vigorito :: Assistant Coach

This is Coach Vigorito's first season with the Cougar program.  He competed collegiately at Pacific Lutheran University from 2001-2003 and at Southern Oregon University during the 2005-06 seasons.

Rich took first place at the Southern Oregon Open and fourth place at the Reno Tournament of Champions his senior season with the Raiders.

He  was a former teammate and workout partner of Coach Rhoden's while at Pacific Lutheran.  Rich brings a great work ethic and mat sense to the coaching staff.

Rich graduated in 2006 with a MS in Computer Science at SOU.

Kevin ArizoKevin Arizo :: Athletic Trainer

Kevin graduated from Pacific University 2003 with an Exercise Science major with an emphasis in Sports Medicine. Upon graduation, Kevin took on several trainer roles in the metro area.  He was an assistant trainer with the Portland Timbers during the 2003-05 seasons and in 2006 he became the head athletic trainer for the club. He has also worked for North Lake Physical Therapy clinic in Lake Oswego as an athletic trainer since 2003 and and for Lake Oswego High School as the school's trainer.
