Top Academic Team in Nation
The 2005-06 season was highlighted by significant achievements by the Cougar program. The Cougars were named the All-Academic team, tops in the nation. The Cougar wrestling squad earned this award by having the top grade point average in the country. This award was facititated with the assistance of our outstanding athletic academic advisor, P. J. Martineau.
Cantrell earns All-American; Cougs Finish 16th in Nation
Former Cougar standout (now with the University of Oregon) Bryan Cantrell earned All-American honors at 157 lbs by placing 3rd at the NJCAA National Championships. Overall, the Cougars finished T16th in the nation and finished 4th at the Region XVII Championships. In dual meets, the Cougar Wrestling Team finished with a record (7-9)
