Welcome to CCC’s Electro-Hydrogen

Golf Cart Project Website!

This project was made possible by a generous grant from the CCC Foundation.

The purpose of this grant is to create a project that will:

  • Bring some of our different disciplines together (RET, Automotive, Manufacturing, etc.)
  • Give students an opportunity to collaborate and problem-solve with a hands-on project
  • Explore emerging technology

Golf cart team

This project was conceived in the spring of 2010 by Casey Sims, Bob Delgatto, Rick Lockwood, and Abe Fouhy.  It began in the fall of 2010, and is scheduled to be completed by the spring of 2012.

We will take an electric golf cart, mount a small conventional motor on the back, convert that motor to run on hydrogen, and use its power to recharge the electric batteries on the cart.

For more details, please read our grant application.  For questions or comments about the project, or to inquire about how to participate, please contact Casey Sims at caseys@clackamas.edu or 503-594-3816.
