Q: How many students do you accept each year?
A: 40 students

Q: How many students do you interview?
A: We interview typically between 100 - 120 students.

Q: How often to you accept students?
A: We have one application cycle per year. The program is a Fall-start program.

Q: Can I take my prereqs at another college or university?
A: YES. As long as they are an accredited institution. Please work with your academic advisor for help in selecting courses.

Q: How do I know if and how my credits transfer into the CCC Nursing Program?
A: Submit a free application to CCC. Send in an official transcript to Enrollment Services along with a Transfer Credit Evaluation Request Form.

Q: What classes have recency requirements?
A: Anatomy & Physiology and Computer Science must be completed within 5 years. Please see the most recent prerequisite handout for specific dates.

Q: What is the highest level of math I need to complete?
A: If you want to stop at the associate-degree level, you need to complete MTH 095. If you want to earn your bachelor's degree, you will need the first term of Statistics (MTH 243 at CCC). You need to earn a "C" or better in math, but you do not need to use your math grade on your application.

Note: If you take MTH 243 at CCC, you will need to take MTH 111 College Algebra as a pre-requisite.

Q: I took a different biology course that contained genetics. Do I need to retake BI 112?
A: You will need to meet with Carol Thorn, Nursing Department Chair to inquire about whether the course can be substituted. Bring a copy of the syllabus with you.

Q: Can I use Development Psychology as one of my Social Science courses?
A: No. You will need 6 credits of Social Science in addition to Developmental Psychology.

Q: How do I know what Math and Writing classes to start with?
A: Visit the Testing Center to take the placement tests, or - if you have previous college credit - bring an unofficial transcript in to an advisor.

Q: What if I retake a prerequisite course?
A: We will use the more recent grade.

Q: Are there other courses I can take prior to being accepted into the program?
A: Yes: Microbiology and Statistics (if you are pursuing the BSN).
