How to start SMART at CCC...

Going to college can sometimes seem overwhelming. Don't worry, we're here to help you get through the steps and start your successful educational experience.

1. Apply to CCC:

     
       

2. Take your Placement Tests:

  • Take the College Placement Test at the Testing Center.
    OR
  • Bring in ACT/SAT scores to the Testing Center for evaluation (mimimum scores are required; view their placement chart by clicking here)

Have previous college credit? Email an advisor with the courses you've taken (and grades) and from what college to see if you still need to take the placement test.

3. Attend an Advising Session:

  • Sign up for a New Student Advising Session.
  • Learn about:
    • Campus Resources
    • Degree Requirements
  • Create your schedule & get registered.
  • What you'll need:
    • Copy of your Placement Test results and your Student ID Number.
    • You will need your Student ID Number in order to create an account and register.

Special Information for Transfer Students.

If you are transferring your credits into CCC from another college or university,...

1. Request official copies of your transcripts from previous colleges.

2. Print, complete & submit a Transfer Credit Evaluation Request Form, available at www.clackamas.edu/forms. Attach your official transcript(s).

3. In a few weeks you will receive a transfer credit evaluation in the mail. Schedule an appointment to meet with an academic advisor by calling x2794 to create an educational plan.

NOTE: If you do not have writing or math credits transcripted, please take the placment test(s) in our Testing Center.
